Night Sequels returns! Almost! SLUG is one of two new Night Sequels releases, a maxi-single perhaps (remember those?), that offers up glimpses of the kind of bedroom alchemy NS has been conjuring up in the past year or so. Informal and improvised, these tracks are elemental and raw siphons from the Night Sequels cauldron. Rusted industro drums dredged up from the seafloor, covered in muck and coral growths, complemented by weaving synthesizer lines that could be streetlights beaming down onto a rainy city sidewalk, with voyeuristic eyes in the apartments above them, peering down at what steps into the light. So, while SLUG (and its sister collection TASCAMS) are not a new Night Sequels album, they are the new flesh of Night Sequels' continued experiments.
